How to Stage Branches for Yard Debris Pickup
Make branch length, pile volume and the loading route easier to assess before pickup.

Place already-cut branches where their length, diameter and total footprint can be seen without moving other material first. Keep the driveway, gate and sidewalk usable.
Separate what is not a branch
Pull out wire, treated lumber, household trash, rocks and soil-heavy roots. A green-material pile becomes a different disposal question when other material is mixed through it.
Record the pieces that set the scale
Measure the longest and thickest pieces, then photograph the pile from the side and from several steps back. Note thorns, wet material and any narrow turns.
Protect the loading route
Move vehicles and fragile objects, secure pets and identify gates or stairs. Do not stage branches against utility equipment, a public roadway or an unstable fence.
